Vintage valve and vinyl was started by James Turner following a long career in radio communications design. James has been on the vacuum tube audio scene since 1992 formerly as the Technical Director of GATE (Glass Audio Tube Engineering) and more recently on the contract engineering scene.
The James Turner Vacuum Tube Audio range of Pre-ampliiers, Phono Stages and Power Amplifiers are designed and hand built to order by James.
We restore vintage vacuum tube audio equipment to a very high standard and give it a new lease of life.
More recently we have diversified into the contract engineering and test business.

James Turner was born in London and holds a BSc (Hons) in Electronic Engineering.
James developed an interest in vacuum tube audio at an early age and built his first Mullard 510 based amplifier when he was 12 years old. (It still works).
